This piece was inspired by “A Modest Proposal” by Jonathan Swift, a satirist. Similar to how Swift’s political commentary uses the idea of cannibalism as a means to improve Ireland’s economy and welfare, the pig depicted is selling various types of meat including pork. This captures how for the benefit of himself, the pig is willing to sacrifice his brethren in order to make a living.
